(The Southern African Times) – Angola’s largest mobile operator Unitel has so far invested 25 million U.S. dollars in technology innovation and digital upgrades to prepare for the launch of 5G service in the country, the company said Tuesday.

The upgrades would allow more devices to access the mobile internet at the same time and make the company’s services more available in urban centers.

“This is an action that will allow the consolidation of the extension of services and prepare the basic infrastructure for 5G,” it added.

State-of-the-art radio equipment has been installed in more than 400 locations to increase the 3G, 4G and 4.5G services, the operator said.
