TRIPOLI (The Southern African Times) – The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, confirmed that the European Union (EU) is fully prepared to accompany Libya on its way towards the elections, which are scheduled for next December.

Borrell indicated, on his Twitter account, that he met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Najla Al-Manqoush, to discuss the latest developments on the Libyan front, prior to the launch of the European Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg.

The EU official indicated, that he raised the appalling conditions in the detention centers for migrants in Libya, emphasizing that addressing this issue should be a priority one.
