Kenya set to host WRC Safari Rally until 2026

(SATSports) – Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday announced that the country will host the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally until 2026.

The President announced that an agreement has been reached between the Government of Kenya, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the World Rally Championship (WRC) for the country to hold the rally.

The Safari Rally was re-introduced into the WRC calendar for the first time in 19 years this year and the success of the event has led to the FIA giving Kenya an extension.

Current world champion Sebastien Ogier won this year’s edition of the Safari Rally.

Ogier beat his Toyota Gazoo Racing team-mate Takamoto Katsuta while Hyundai Motorsport driver Ott Tanak took the third spot.
