TOTTENHAM POSITIVE OVER PAUL MUKAIRU JOINING THEM THIS SUMMER

(SATSports – Football) – According to The Sunday Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur think they’re in pole position to sign Antalyaspor winger Paul Mukairu this summer.

It’s claimed that Mukairu is attracting major interest having impressed on loan at Anderlecht this season, with a battle expected for him this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen and Villarreal are thought to be interested, but Tottenham believe they’re winning the race and could sign him at the end of the season.

Mukairu, 21, would allegedly only cost around £4million, meaning Spurs may well have found themselves a bargain in the winger.

Mukairu has played 18 league games for Anderlecht this season, bagging two goals and four assists as well as two goals in the Belgian Cup.

Primarily a left-sided winger, Mukairu has pace and trickery, but needs to work on his end product and is very one-footed, preferring to cut inside on his right foot.

Spurs may well see Mukairu as a cheap player for the future, and sending him out on loan for first-team experience could be a wise approach.

Mukairu doesn’t have any caps for Nigeria, so a work permit could be something of an issue, though Tottenham’s confidence means a deal may well materialise.
